A: Pours a dark brown with some ruby highlights around the edges. A two finger beige head forms with good retention. Sticky spiderweb looking lace is left behind.
S: Roasted malt, and slightly acrid coffee up front. Chocolate and toffee as well.
T: Roasted malt with lots more chocolate to balance the acrid coffee. Which is much less prominent than in the nose. There is a toffee sweetness as well. Very enjoyable.
M/D: A medium body with crisp carbonation, though smooth at the same time. Very easy to drink. I can quaff several without a problem.
A very good porter, and an excellent cask. Something that I really enjoyed, and something that I would highly recommend if at the brewpub.
