There's a devil waiting to get out in all of us, and that devil is thirsty for a strong, easy drinking ale. Brewed in the Belgian tradition that lets the yeast shine through, our strong ale highlights the fruity, elegant esters of the Belgian yeast strain while still delivering enough flavor and malt backbone to stand up to the high alcohol.

Had on tap at the brewery 12oz
On arrival a smal head, just a ring around the rim, but carbonation in the more bronze than gold body is quite lively and fine. Body is crystal clear.
Aroma has a candy like sweetness and a very present fruit aroma in the yeast. Some light hopping is present, but is largely overshadowed by fruity yeast and a very sweet maltbill.
Taste is almost spot on with the aroma. Very sweet with light hopping and a fruity vibe from the yeast. The fruits are darker than hop fruit more rasiny plummy and a very light citrus note. At first the sweetness is almost overwhelming, but as you drink it falls more into place. Unfortunately it isn't very balanced and could use a bit more bitterness or fermentation dryness. The yeast character is good and has some nice belgian notes although it is quite different than any belgian beer I've had. Alcohol is detectable on the palate and it has some winelike qualities. Very unique.
Feel is big on the palate and the alcohol hits for sure. The sweetness is mouthcoating, and the finish is quite long, it might be underfermented as it leaves the lips a bit sticky and has some wort like qualities. Carbonation bite is quite strong but it's clear this wasn't bottle conditioned or whatever equivalent craft breweries have been doing.
Overall it's a pretty good belgian style ale.its certainly not dark, but t's a bit of a strech to call it golden. Very sweet which initially caught me off guard, but got acclimated to, similar to huge hopped beers, but I haven't actually had a belgian this sweet. I don't know if I'd come back to it as it's just not quite refreshing with the sweetness.
