Nothing inspires inspiration like success. On the way out of the Colorado Convention Center, one of our team became enamored with a large painting titled "Stegosaurus Snacks" and that just sounds like a killer beer name. We made our dunkel lager with 100% German-malted barley and German hops. Rich, roasty, and yet somehow light, this is dark lager is smooth and fun.

Pours out a clear, dark brown color, opaque in the glass; very thick, semi-creamy, light tan head, very long lasting. Fantastic dark malt nose; soft and rich aroma; cocoa powder. The flavor also exudes richness and earthy sweetness; cocoa powder; light grain char; toffee and light brown sugar; moderate bitterness offsetting the sweetness. Heavy body; soft and smooth; fine residual sugar feel; very mild dryness towards the finish.
Wow! This is one rich and delicious dark lager. The brewers at Wynkoop have a winner here! The beer oozes dark, lip-smacking malt sweetness wrapped up in a dense, almost viscous mouthfeel. Warm and inviting!
Pouring temperature: 45 °F; crowler info: 10/17/23
