this is easily the best wynkoop brew to date. apparently its the second time theyve done this. poured into a 10oz. snifter from the upstairs bar. looks absolutely gorgeous! hazy red/copper color that looks infinitely more deep than the standard railyard. quarter inch white bubbly head resting on top. smells like oak and dry red malts, but the wood is the star here. complex is an understatement on the flavor. its got vanilla and sappy notes from the oak, and the same memorable bittersweet hoppy finish as the normal railyard. i could drink this forever, as the carbonation is perfect, not reduced too much by the aging process, and the body is medium but not filling in the slightest. i want another and another. seriously, this is one of the best beers ive ever had, and after over 500 reviews, and a decade of hard beer drinking before i joined BA, i can tell you that this is a special beer. seek it out! and for just 5 bucks a go, you might as well session it until they drag you out. A+ from me.
