This aught to be on your ‘radar’ as like the Hurricanes and Spitfires of legend it packs a memorable punch. Brewed in association with our local Royal Air Force base, RAF Halton, where it was launched in 2001. An exceptional old ale made with ingredients sourced solely from within these shores including pale and crystal malts and Goldings and Fuggles hops for balance. A donation from each bottle sold is made to the RAF Halton charities.

500ml bottle, served in a pint glass with handle.
L: Clear, rich, glossy, chestnut colour. Three fingers of khaki head is dense and long-lasting and leaves arcs of lacing.
S: Malt. Surprisingly light though.
T: Sweet, dark & malty. Very light bitterness. Treacle, caramel & orchard fruits but never gets heavy or overpowering.
F: Incredibly smooth and creamy for a bottled beer. Soft mouthfeel. This beer on draught could be awesome.
O: This is a fantastic, complex mouthful of quality English malts. About as far from an AIPA hop bomb as it’s possible to get (not that I’m saying one is better than the other, just that they’re utterly different). Will certainly work as a winter warmer when served at cellar temperature but I’m drinking this cold and it’s fabulous on a sultry, 30C, summer evening. Smooth, complex & satisfying.
