The brewery flagship, a hearty and well-rounded beer. Mid amber colour with a rich butter-toffee aroma. Fruity and slightly nutty

Pours an almost-clear copper, with a soapy white head that settles to a patchy ring. Mild floral hops and toasted malt on the nose. More of the same on the tongue, with a slightly watery mouthfeel and a coppery dry finish.

Bottle. Clear amber with a thin bubbly head.
Lightly roasted toffee malt on the nose. Some nuttiness discerned.
Tastes similar. sweet at first with a mild bitter finish. Beautifully balanced.
Soft carbonation. Light to medium body.
Straightforward and fairly decent bitter in a bottle.

Cask at The King's Head in Aylesbury (Chiltern's local home pub).
Copper with medium airy off white head slowly shrinks to thin foamy top. Aroma nuts and fruits and whole wheat bread. Taste moderate sweet fruits and gently bitter nuts, wood, and whole wheat bread. Engaging. Nice bitterness and sweetness both quite evident and firm but balanced. Soft feel with tinge of oiliness.
