8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square - the newest concoction from the brewery right across the parking lot from here.
This beer appears a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with one finger of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent approaching thunderstorm pattern lace around the glass as it quickly subsides.
It smells of juicy tropical fruit, gritty and grainy cereal malt, some hard water flintiness, further domestic citrus rind notes, and some plain earthy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is more mixed exotic fruitiness (pineapple, mango, and kiwi), grainy and crackery pale malt, subtle orange and white grapefruit pith, and more leafy, herbal, and grassy verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-assuring frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and generally smooth, with just a touch of hop acridity making a minor dent in the decor here. It finishes off-dry, the muddled malt and lingering fruitiness the order of the day.
Overall - this comes across as a pleasantly rendered new world version of the style, nice and fresh and full of flavour. Easy to put back, I could see this being my post-soccer practice go-to patio option come summertime.
