8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square - brewed at the production facility in Cowtown.

This beer appears a clear, dark orange-brick brown colour, with one skinny finger of wispy and bubbly tan head, which leaves some decent painted lace around the glass as things evenly subside.

It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, bittersweet cocoa powder, some earthy nuttiness, and very tame leafy, weedy, and floral green hops. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, medium chocolate wafers, Wheat Thins, oily bar-top nuts, and more well-understated earthy, herbal, and dead floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is average in its palate-satisfying frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, with just a touch of generic acridity maybe marring the surface sheen here. It finishes trending dry, the biscuity character predominating.

Overall - this definitely comes off as a different beast from the stout version from a few weeks back. Crisp, easy to put back, and another worthy entry into the Brewsters canon.
