A- Holy crap this was over carbonated upon opening the can! I was greeted to a volcano of foam and once that settled down, even with a very slow pour, the carbonation created a fast six finger head! The coloration is bronze brown and is quite clear, showcasing many columns of aggressive bubble rising to the top of the beer. There is also plenty of sticky chunky lacing that clings to the inside of the glass.
S- There is a medley of malty, sweet and savoury aromas happening here, with caramel & toffee candy/barley malt, milk chocolate and perhaps even some boozy rummy notes. There are some slightly tangy aromas that I keep catching right at the end of the smell too.....not bitter but perhaps from the hops used?
T- Well my instinct was probably correct, and I think this one is slightly off....maybe a bacterial issue that caused all the carbonation? There is a definite sour-ish note about the brew, but once my palate gets around it, there are more of the flavors that I would expect, that being of the aforementioned caramel, toffee, some brown sugar and chocolatey flavors too. The finish is hard to explain because of the tang, but there are some bittering notes from hop usage present, just not prominent.
M/O- This is very zippy carbonation wise and the body is medium-light, so both of those are fine for the style in my opinion. The drinkability would be high, but not so much with this exact can I am consuming. I will have to give this another try sometime and give it proper marks but if this is how it is, I'd stay away!
