Opaque, brownish black with almost no head to speak of (I think that was more the barmaids fault)

Nice grainy and malty aroma.

Lots of chocolate and malty flavors. Faint hop bitterness, and a definate alcohol flavor ant the finish. A very tasty stout.

Nice mouthfeel. Decent body with just the right ammount of carbonation.

A very tasty and drinkable beer. Maybe a bit too drinkable for a guy who has to drive back across the Astoria-Megler bridge after dark.

The reader board says "Kick Ass Stout," the lunch menu calls this "Imperial," and the beer menu says, "Oatmeal Imperial Stout." It's not clear to me whether or not this is the same beer listed above as Imperial Oatmeal Stout. My experience with both beers is separated by a full year and it seems they're close enough as to possibly be one and the same. At any rate, Kick Ass comes with a dense camel-hair head that thins but endures, a strong nose of roasted barley, and an opaque body of coffee-black. The taste touches lightly upon chocolate amid simple roasted grains though a few fusels make a cameo appearance.
