From notes. Had on tap at Belmont Station.
Poured black like a stout, but not as thick. A little bit of highlight around the backlit edges. Modest mocha head gradually fades to a thin film, which remains long after the initial recession. Not much lacing.
Restrained roasy notes, and a bit of heat lead. Floral and fruity hops are harder to find in the background.
Citrusy cascade hops are more prominent than in the nose, but still chill, and balanced by moderate levels of roasty flavors and vague malty sweetness.
Rich and full body, smooth, and with a bit of roasty bitterness lingering.
Admirable effort creating this one. But the hop character wasn't strong enough for an IPA.
