not bad, but not one of the more memorable beers we had in here. cool space, we posted up out on the patio and shared a few. this one has a deep chestnut amber color to it and an average off white head from the tap. the nose is a little sweet, the lager yeast is kind of lost a little here to the robustness of the grain, i get a cola note, some raisin, and a lightly limey hop on the back end that im not positive is fully compatible with the other elements, doesnt smell like the style usually does, but its not unappealing either. a little cocoa to the flavor, a sweet molasses layer in the center of it, malt driven for sure, but with some early onset hop bitterness which has citrus pith and wet lawn notes as well, and a bready yeast thats finally coming through, raisin, fig, clay minerality, and a slightly unclean twang to the ferment as it warms. the body is medium, a little fuller than i want in these most of the time, but the carbonation is there. kind of a colder weather take on the style, more hearty, but not as well executed as the best of their beers we had while we were here...
