A: Deep copper, with a small but dense cream head. The head slowly falls to a thin film that stays the whole way down the glass. Leaves bits of lace.
S: Toffee and a hint of chocolate get things going. Behind them is a bit of lemon and an out of place grapefruit aroma.
T: Caramelized sugars dominate at first with a distinct bittersweet toffee flavor. the chocolate from the nose sneaks in before the bitterness arrives with a citrus bite that's more APA than Altbier. Finishes with a bit of lingering toffee.
M: The medium-light body has the super soft and silky carbonation that all the Sandlot beers I've had possess.
D: This is a nice Alt, but the citrus flavors and aromas are out of place. On its own, the beer stands up well, but it doesn't hit the style as well as it could.
