Served at a Rockies/Cubs game in a ballpark friendly plastic pint glass.
A: Hazy copper with a small eggshell head that retreats to a ring at the beer's edge. Carbonation is very mild and no lace is left behind.
S: Smells of dark fruits such as cherry and currant, plus coriander and toffee aromas. Alcohol adds a light tingle.
T: Dark fruits and bittersweet toffee carry into the beer's flavor. Bitterness is coriander and pepper spicy, but mild. Alcohol adds a nice warmth going down. Finishes dry, with lingering toffee and pepper flavors.
M: The body is rather light given the alcohol. The carbonation is way too low for this style.
D: Perhaps a little strong for a hot summer afternoon, but I'm impressed at Sandlot for producing this for the ballgame crowd. A nice Dubbel overall.
