one of the better rush river beers i have had, but they tend to do a good job with the hoppy ones. i love wet hop season, and this is a solid offering. i have not had the regular minion ipa, so its hard to compare obviously, but the wet hops are juicy and oily and autumnal in here, classic strains too, piney and woody and northwestern to me, dry hopped beautifully, and well balanced and supported by a pale structurally robust malt base. i do get a little metallic thing in the flavor, pennies and tin or something, but its short lived, and the leafy green fresh hops packed with lupulin come back quick and make everything right. i dont mind the bit of sweetness from the grain in here, it works well with the hops and the textural elements they contribute. some grapefruit bitterness at the end comes on late, and a clean fermentation helps wind it down pretty fast. a little heavier than many, and i couldnt make a night of this i dont think, its filling in that way, but a tasty wet hopped brew from these guys, well worth trying.
