Growler purchased at C.I.'s for $5.43. I chose this one because I thought I would be drining it with a friend who really likes ambers, but it turns out I had to get rid of it all by myself.
Poured a transparent caramel-mahogany color that took on a slghtly rubyesque hue when held up to direct light. Big, off-white head that left lots of lace.
Faint floral hops and mildly sweet malts are the aromas that greeted my nose. While tasty smelling, I can tell this is definitely not going to be a particularly memorable beer.
This is a mildly sweet and (very) mildly hoppy tasting beer. There's a very modest dry zap at the swallow that is almost imperceptable.
Fairly watery body, with a slightly prickly mouthfeel.
This is easy to drink in quantity (which is good when you've bought a growler of it), but there's not much else to reccomend it. Not much character here. Still, you could do worse, so long as you buy this on cheap growler night.

This one is on tap served in a frosted 22 oz tumbler.
Pours a nut brown color and is clear. Creamy tan head is thin but sticky and laces the side of the glass nicely. The head is moderately resilient and is retained in some measure throughout the beer.
The smell is faintly sweet. There is an earthy aroma of malted grain.
The taste is something of a nutty caramel flavor. There is a malt presence with a mild hop finish, and a mildly bitter after taste. The flavors are slightly sweet but well balanced.
The mouth feel is smooth and light, mildly carbonated, not filling, but full flavored just the same.
This is a very pleasing and drinkable beer. Personally I think itÂ’s more akin to a brown ale then an amber, but it is very very good either way. I would certainly have another butt face or two when the opportunity presents.
