new to their spring mix this year (from what i can remember) and i like it quite a lot. more of a session ipa, with a lower abv, lots of bubbles, and a clean citrusy finish with only medium bitterness. its clean and bright almost blonde, very pale for the style, and holding a nice head with a ton of frantic bubbles racing up. it smells lemony and orangey, but also oddly like peaches. cool nose, with a very light grain bill. i wish they gave us more information about the hops varietals, i have a gut feeling its a mix of old familars and a few new faces. something dynamic about the fruits that appear from them. bitterness is all up front, uncommon in ipa, but not uncommon for saranac, who has played with that before. great freshness to the finish, drying grassy vibes, and a grain bill that minimally interferes with the hops character. refreshing with great carbonation, somehow a little filling for what its trying to be, three of four of these is enough for me. i like this better than their flagship ipa, and hope to see it stick around.
