12 oz bottle
Dark clear amber color, white head that fades. Toffee and bready aroma. Taste is similar, slightly sweet. Medium bodied but fuller mouthfeel than most lagers.

Clear amber-red with two fingers of tan head. Lasts a fair while before leaving heavy lacing. Thick, sweet caramel malt aroma, with a touch of plum and a slight spicy kick to it. Surprisingly dry and yeasty tasting, without much sweetness to it at all after a quick initial kiss. Light bodied. Below average overall.

Very very thin mouthfeel. Otherwise average marzen.
Found a lefrover in my fridge and updated rating on 5-26-17. Bumped feel from 3.75 up to 4. It's really not thin, it's just a little dry. Also note that this beer is nearly identical to the Sam Adams Octoberfest - heavy caramel malt bomb.

The beer pours a nice, lightly tanned, and creamy head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a very nice looking brown color that sometimes goes int o a deep amber color. The beer body is clear.
The smell is decent. It has a nice hop bitterness with a nice caramel malt note and some yeastiness as well as a surprising light roast to it.
The taste is decent. It has a moderate hop bitterness that is stronger than the caramel malt note. It isn't too bad and the balance between the two is enough that you still get the caramel malt and yeast notes but with a decent and slightly light hop note.
The body isn't bad. It's medium body but isn't very thick. However, it isn't watery but thinner than someone would expect. It is nice and smooth and leaves a little bit of stickiness at the end. There is a slight dryness at the end that would go well with a greasy meal.
Overall, a decent marzen and worth getting. While it isn't the greatest marzen, it's worth the price and a good companion beer to German food this Oktoberfest.
