From the 12 fl. oz. bottle that has a smudged best buy date but it looks like the year was 2016. Sampled on April 23, 2017.
It pours golden yellow under a lingering off-white head and a slight haze.
Unfortunately stale malt sweetness and tobacco penetrates the nose with little to no hop character in the aroma. This is probably die to the age of the bottle.
The body isn't bad - about medium and smooth.
Same tobacco malt character in the taste with little to no bitterness to end it. Maybe the slightest lemonzest note. Still, I need to try it fresher next time.

Pretty good beer. I don't like it as much as Sarnac's black beer, but it still has something going for it. This feels a little more rustic than a traditional lager.. just a tad bit bitter, but it isn't overpowering at all.. still has a nice malty feel and taste.

12 oz bottle
even though unfiltered, it's still fairly clear, but a few particles floating around. light golden in color, white head. some lacing. aroma of cracked corn, grain. some grassy hops are in the taste too, a little earthy. slightly sweet. thinner bodied.

Pale golden color, slightly hazed, with a finger and a half of dense white head that leaves thick rings of lacing.
Bready aroma with floral hops behind; perhaps a tad more doughy than a Pils or Helles.
That doughiness is much more evident in the taste, with a very slightly sour characteristic mid-palate and a dully bitter aftertaste.
It's not at all crisp. Fairly thick bodied and chewy for something so light in color.
While there is some residual malt sweetness, it becomes quite dry fifteen seconds or so after sipping -- prodding another sip perhaps? Almost like a gose without the salt in that regard.
It's like the center of a soft pretzel. Nothing that's going to win any awards, but quite satisfying anyhow.

The beer pours a nice white and fizzy head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a metallic and medium yellow that isn't really an appealing hue. It look s okay but not too crazy about it.
The smell is decent. It has a light banana note along with a pine hop note and an interesting pepper note.
The taste is nice and surprisingly interesting. It has a nice floral and pine bitterness to it. The yeast note is a light banana and there seems to be an interesting pepper note among the other notes.
The feel is okay. It's a thin bodied beer with a bit of heft to it. The carbonation is a bit tingly and biting but it gives a bit of refreshment to it.
Overall, a decent kellerbier and worth drinking but you won't miss much if you don't.

Pretty much as others stated it is a very balanced unfiltered lager. Taste is pretty stellar nothing offensive or skunk and even some hops come to play to keep if from being boring. If I ever found this for 9-10 bucks a six pack I may get some since its way better than Straub American Lager. Even has a higher ABV too!

Nothing special here. Nothing offensive either. Not much aroma to judge. Easy to drink, fairly well balanced malt and hops, but nothing stands out as a reason to look for it again.

Impressively good for a brewery I view on the level of leinenkugels.
Pours pilsner clear with a thick foamy head.
Smells like biscuits, toast, green grass, and earthy hops.
Tastes like grass, corn, and pepper. Noble hops dominate this beer with a grainy like sweetness behind it.
Feel is heavily carbonated for a lighter beer. Very full mouth.
