12oz can. Bottom stamp is '3244 11:57'.
Mostly clear, deep gold colored body. One finger of white head, and this recedes to an interrupted cap and ring. Leaves behind jagged rings of lacing.
Aroma is toasted caramel malts and hops that express pine and fruit.
Taste is grapefruit, pineapple, and pine. More bitter than sweet. More sweet caramel malts in the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Dry finish. Minor tongue numbing. Very good carbonation.
The hops are present but do not sing. Kind of woody, especially late. Good and sweet malt base.

Billed as the beer of west-coast flare and east-coast thrills, the Saranac brand of beer brings a hoppy hour to a bar near you.
Tarnish gold and slightly tinted with amber, Happy Hour Hero West Coast Style IPA engulfs the rim with a slightly off-white froth and an herbal, citrusy and grainy scent. Greeting the tongue with malt sweetness, the early palate is crisp with caramel, honey and wafer before the boldness of hops command the middle palate with white grapefruit, orange peel and lemon. Hints of passionfruit, kiwi and lime add a racy zing ahead of a bitterly balanced hop presence of sassafras, cedar, fresh grass clippings and hemp dictate the late taste.
Medium-light and finishing semi-dry, the beer showcases the common mistake in recipe formulation- treating newer hops with old IPA techniques that highlight hop tannins for an unnecessary leafy, stemmy and grassy aftertaste.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This decent little WCIPA pours a
clear pale amber with a nice head of white foam that settles to a thick
ring, thin clumping layer, and sports some very nice lacing. Nose of
pine, caramel, light citrus notes of grapefruit, orange zest, and light
grain notes. Flavors surpass the nose with a nice presentation of
sticky pine, light caramel, grapefruit, light orange zest, and light grain
notes dashed with honey. Mouth feel is medium light, medium light
carbonation, and a lightly bitter hop finish that is moderately dry.
Overall, a solid IPA.
Cheers
