From a sample glass at the brewery.
Gold color. Very good clarity. Nice looking beer, but a shade or two dark for a proper Kölsch. Slight white head quickly faded into a ring around the edge of the glass.
No perceptible aroma. However, Kölsch is a very delicate style and I'm sure being in a sample glass didn't help.
Bitterness up front in flavor. Some graininess also apparent. Very clean and refreshing. A bit bitter for a Kölsch, but a pretty respectable attempt for a brewpub. Slight mineral notes as well.
Somewhat astringent mouthfeel. This is probably from hops as huskiness was not detected in flavor profile. Pretty clean finish. Mineral notes also seemed to contribute to dryness.
