Had this on-tap at the Champlain & Perrin location tonight. I've never seen it before, but hopefully I'll see it again.

Served in a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Dark, clear, reddish amber body with a creamy, white, halo on top. The body appears to be oily, and the head not at all sticky (no lacing). Each swirl leaves a thin, oily film on the walls of the glass. Head never disappears, but even a voilent shake can't make it rise past 1/4 inch.

Smell: Brown malt mixed with lager malt. Closer examintation reveals citrus and red berries, though neither aroma is definitive.

Taste: Caramel and brown malt flavors start things off, followed by lager malt, wood, and finally leafy, spicy (Hallertau?) hops. Quite good. Balanced too. Alcohol can be found near the finish and in the aftertaste, though it's not bothersome.

Mouthfeel: Oily, medium bodied, and dry. Carbonation is on the high side and suits the beer well; it enhances the flavor and provides an active, cascading feel on the palate. I dig.

Drinkability: A nice offering from Sequoia. I enjoyed my first glass, and decided to go for a second. If you ever come across this one, give it a try. It's definitely worht the $4.
