Poured from bottle purchased in Beaune, France. Freshness date Oct-7-11. Drunk in April 11.

A: Deep amber, hazy, good lacing but pretty low retention.

S: Honey, yeast and citrus

T: Mild wheaty malt, similat malt profile to hefeweizen. Aftertaste is mild plus a weird metallic note. Hops are very low. Gets boring quickly due to low hops.

M: Ask attenuation, low carbonation.

Don't see any yeast in the bottom --- I thought this was bottle conditioned ?

Had this on tap at Le Cappucino in Dijon. Nice place, check out my review on it.

Color is opalescent wheaty-yellow to dark straw. Good high head that eventually settles into a nice lace over the beer. Aroma is rather full of esters (banana & pear mostly), but not over-the-top Jolly Rancher by any stretch.

The flavor reflects the fruity aroma and adds a slightly warm spice character (like allspice). Not exactly like one of those heavy holiday ales, far more mellow and well-balanced. Hop character takes a back seat to this Franch/Belgian style blonde. The mouthfeel is ultimately cloying, which may be due to the use of the unfamiliar (to me) but local Brazey en Plaine malt. The finish is ultimately a little boozy, relegating this beer to one or two servings at once.

La Brasserie des Trois Fontaine's La Mandubienne Blonds is well worth ordering if you see it. I would have liked to visit the brewery (they're open for visits), but time in Dijon was short. I will be looking out for bottles from this brewery, as I'm sure they're worth a try.

The loudest beer I've ever heard. Unbelievable. Very silky; the head is made of very fine and dense bubbles that move around at an incredible velocity. The body is very active too and has a nice looking hazy orange golden color. The smell was very intriguing, maybe tropical fruits and straw; some hints of goat cheese. First time I get such a smell. Some roasted notes too. The taste is less intriguing but quite enjoyable: very fruity: peaches, melon, grapefruit, with a floral and herbal hoppiness. Very round in the mouth, soft on the palate, reminding me for some reason of a Fanta orange, probably for the carbonation, although it is less agressive. Hoppiness gets a bit chewy and remains on the palate with an enjoyable fruitiness.
