Very solid offering. Dark brown color with a tan head that shows decent retention. Aroma of roasted malts and a touch of coffee. The taste has a nice malt sweetness and shows great chocolate notes, with just the right amount of bitterness in the finish. Seems a little thin on the mouthfeel, perhaps the carbonation level is just a bit low. Very drinkable though, as this a nice robust porter. Valhalla, you will be missed.

Served as a sample at the microbrewery. The color was reddish-black, with good head. The smell was sweet. The taste was a sweet, coffeeish one. Mouthfeel was quite smooth. Drinkability-wise, this is also a great session beer.
A true treat from Valhalla, and a shame that this isn't a regular offering. As good a porter as I've had!

This is a medium bodied, very dark almost black porter. Smooth, creamy upfront with a balanced bitter/sweet middle with more chocolate than coffee. Doesn't cross the line towards stout but comes close with it's rich roasted flavors. A nice oily subtle hop finish tones down the sweetness and makes for one fine porter.
