Red copper beer with amber highlights served with a tan head that fades to a thin layer of foam. The aroma is dominated by sweet, toasted malt with a distinct hop prescence. The flavor is more malty goodness, exhibiting a near-roasted character. There is also a decent hop level to clean the palate and balance the malt. The mouthfeel is rich and smooth, with the drinkability very good. In the time I was at the bar, this beer outsold the other offerings. An excellent Marzen-inspired beer that has it's own identity. A little more hops, a little more roasted notes, a lot more of Valhalla Marzen, please.
