Appearance: Very dark brown, with ruby highlights when held to the light. Reasonable tan brown head leaving little lace.
Smell: Very intricate smell. Milk chocolate with hints of roasted nuts, coffee, dark malts and a hint of liquorice (proper liquorice not typical allsorts). I really like this smell.
Taste: Rather disappointing when compared with the smell. Dark malts with hints of nutty chocolate (as in the smell). Very poor finish and almost no lasting flavour.
Overall not bad, just too light a flavour for a stout.
Mouthfeel: Perfect carbonation, but a little too light for my liking.
Drinkability: A very drinkable offering, a few bottles would go down very well on a winter's night.
