A: Semi-translucent pale yellow with a moderate white head and some lacing on the glass. Light stream of suds upon pouring.
S: Moderate bitterness of hops, along with a melange of spices.
T: After aging the bottle for several months, the flowery bitterness described by donis becomes more noticeable, although still not unpleasant. Otherwise very characteristic of a belgian style ale.
M: Thin, with moderate carbonation. Complements the taste well.
O: A brew that tastes refreshingly pleasant immediately to most, and to beerophiles brings even more character with a bit of age. A triumph of a ten-year celebration.

I got this beer from my Las Colinas beer club in Texas for my November beer. I was very surprised by how well this beer was done considering Rahr & Sons really hasn't done much in the Belgian style yet... actually none if I remember correctly. This came with another bottle of Corsendonk Pater Dubbel Ale which as you may know is brewed and bottled in Belgium and this beer absolutely held its own. It didn't have the nice cloudy appearance I was expecting but the taste and aroma were above par. It poured well and the head was wasn't overly frothy as I've come to expect with most Belgian style ales. There is a bit of the malty sweetness towards the middle of the drink and leaves you with a flowery bitterness on the backend. Well done for their anniversary beer. The wax coating was a bit of a pain to get off but still looked very nice before having to open it! Certainly recommend if you're in Texas and looking for a nice Belgian style brew. Cheers!
