Golden in color with a thick white head. Nose is slightly citrus and slightly bready. Taste was malty then the bitterness hits the back of the palate. The ABV is not super evident. Very good IIPA.

Rahr doesn’t market this as an imperial IPA, but wow, it packs a punch at 9.6% ABV.
Nose is citrusy, lemongrass, kind of floral.
There is a good malt backbone here but the citrus leads the way on taste. I also get a little sweet melon or cantaloupe in the finish.
The ABV really surprised me. It’s not sweet or syrupy, doesn’t have an oily viscosity like many high ABV beers, drinks like a 6-7%. Kudos to the brewers, it’s well balanced and the finish is long and kind of dry.
