On tap at the 07 Kennett Square Brew Fest...
Appearance is cloudy golden with good head retention. Aroma is heavily spice, hay, honey, wheat with a golden style nose. Taste is spice, hay, wheat with strong cardamom. Strong with a nice semi-sweet front. Some alcohol comes through but finishes dry and with light hop. Mouthfeel is clean, full and dry but could use some time to settle down a bit. Too spiced for my taste.

Strong with a nice semi-sweet front. Some alcohol comes through but finishes dry and with light hop. Mouthfeel is clean, full and dry but could use some time to settle down a bit. Too spiced for my taste.

Sampled during the ceremonial tapping at the brewery in celebration of its 10th. They didn't seem to have name nor what type of brew to call it, being a mixture of styles.
Poured a bruised peach mixed with a Baltimore Farmer's market fresh farmstand apple cider color. I had a finger or two of white head. Not much retention (but, remember this was a small, limited sample) but some very nice lacing. Small amount of carbonation feeding up.
Along with the fruit theme, found that it smelled of apples, citrus and a wild mix of spices.
The flavors were all over, in a good way. There were sips when I had a bunch of fruit, but overall it was spicey and floral. Hints of cardammon and saffron; though one could argue that the dish sitting in front of me was saffrony too, but you get the idea.
Medium bodied brew that went down like water. Finished slightly floral. Overall, I love me some Brewer's Art. This was an interesting one off brew that was worth several samples.

On tap at KSBF '06...
Appears a hazy gold with a small off-white head that slowly fades away. Spots of lacing are left around the glass.
The smell is of cinnamon, coriander, saffron, cardamom, and a spicy apple and citrus aroma that feeds off the doughy, Belgian yeast.
Taste is of the given aromas with a nod to the Belgian yeast, which sets the style up for being a spiced Belgian Ale.
Mouthfeel is smooth with gentle spicing flicking the tongue during the swallow.

T: The ale is heavily spiced, relying on a coriander pepper and honey combination. Those spices really control the beer, allowing a biscuity malt to come through only briefly.
M: The spice combination is a good one that doesnt seem to be utilized frequently.
D: The ale is moderately drinkable as it relies too heavily on the spices and doesnt allow for a malt or hop profile to really stand out.

Belgian style Grand Cru, spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, and saffron, and about 7-8%abv.
The pour is a murky amber colour with gold highlights and the slightest hint of a head. The aromas are fruity/malty and subtle, with spice and saffron notes coming to the fore as it warms. Flavours are of apricot, white plum, spice and a medicinal hint of saffron on the finish. Carbonation is persistant but delicate, allowing this beer a silky feel. Top notch drinking and congrats to the best Brewpub I know on it's 10th Anniversary!

Not sure how to categorize this as the Brewery has decided to call it a Grand Cru rather than place it in a specific category

Taste: Complex opening flavors, definitely influenced by the yeast, but it is after the swallow that the fun begins, with cinnamon, peppercorn and a very subtle saffron element that provide bitter contrasts with one another
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with relatively low levels of carbonation
Drinkability: Interesting spice mix, rather unique in my experience; this spice combo would be very interesting in a lower ABV saison style
