Damn, gotta play second fiddle to johnmichaelson again.

Their card describes it thusly: "A wheated, Herculean, "Chesapeake mild" brewed to celebrate the Twelfth Anniversary of our opening".

It's served in their great Kolsch style glasses. Slightly cloudy amber in color, Belgian-y nose, complex and fruity, bitey to the tongue (that's the wheat), drinks a little heavier than the 4.5% ABV as listed, but sessionable and enjoyable.

Not quite the superstar like so many other Brewer's Art beers but still very enjoyable and UNIQUE, great nose, decent body, complex flavors if a bit disheveled.

Fantastic creation as usual from BA.

Volker was good enough to let me fill a growler of this excellent new beer from Brewer's Art.

The beer pours a light hazy tan color with good head retention and lacing. The first thing I notice on the nose is a dry cherry licorise aroma, in a beer that seems fairly low in alcohol. The cherry flavor became increasingly pronounced the longer the beer sat in the glass, with appreciably more spice as well (I gather from the De Dolle yeast strain). The flavors replicate the nose, and once again the beer is suprisingly light on its feet. The beer has some modest sweetness, but is basically dry on the finish. Nevertheless, I'm impressed by how much flavor the brewer was able to get into a beer with such a low abv. This beer has a fairly light mouthfeel, but is still very smooth. Alcohol is not the least bit noticeable and I absolutely could and would knock back several of these at a sitting.

A very impressive beer from Brewer's Art. Thanks Volker!
