Sampled this at Hero's Pub in Annapolis, MD.
A nice coppery dark color with no head to speak of, traces of foam around the edges.
Very little aroma detectable, perhaps because glass was filled quite full, perhaps because of cold serving temperature? A little whiff of citrusy hops.
Balanced hops and malt taste, with nothing standing out, all flavor notes (lemon, pine) well supported. A smooth, easy pleasure with a clean finish where the malt flavors can be lightly discerned.
Mouthfeel lively, but mostly smooth, with a hint of dry astringency.
This is a highly drinkable PA, even if it lacks boldness. It's understated but solid.

**The Brewer's Art Pale Ale (aka bird house pale ale) drank outside their location is contract brewed from Old Dominion. I've moved by review over to this location**
Had this on tap at JD's Smokehouse in Canton--it's tucked away at the back bar, most of the servers wouldn't know about it. I asked about the Birdhouse on the taphandle and the name of the beer, and was told, "I don't know already, it's a pale ale, it's tasty, more people here like it than the Resurrection." I ended up having a few...
It poured a clear, sandy color, with a thick white head.
Has a buttery and citrus aroma.
A very crisp and creamy, well-balanced beer. It does side towards the malt, which is very bready, but also has just a nip of citrus hops and diacetyl. Finishes very clean. I can see where this would work well with the macro-lovers, but the geeks should dig it too, it is very well done.
Very drinkable, why don't they have this in more places?

Contracted brewed for Brewer's Art Brewpub, Baltimore, MD. Tasted at the Old Dominion Brewing Co., Ashburn, VA.
Golden with a low ivory head, decent carbonation, and light rings of lace. Light hoppy aroma and light Belgian yeasty aroma. Belgian yeasty flavor with a good malt profile. Light-medium body, a bit creamy and smooth.
A very nice session beer.
