Listed as a triple imperial mild (yuck, yuck) at Max's.

The beer pours a solid gold color with fairly good head retention and lacing. Nose is pretty simple and not very prominent, showcasing honey and clove in what smells like it will be a fairly sweet beer. On the palate, this beer is better then it smells, with honey, clove and black pepper, all on a fairly sweet frame. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a fairly long, sweet, peppery, hoppy/bitter finish. There is just enough hoppy bitterness to dry out the sweetness in this beer, and to keep it from becoming too cloying. Drinkabilty is good, with the alcohol nicely integrated into the flavor profile

A tasty beer, though not all that different (or better) than the green peppercorn triple IMHO.

This is the Brewer's Art 14th Anniversary beer according to their website. Served chilled in a goblet.

A resplendent golden with great clarity, this is what I think of when I picture a tripel - beatiful in every way, visible carbonation, thick rocky cap with very tight bead subtle lace clings to the glass. A very nice herbal hop aroma blends with some gentle malt notes and light candy sugar aroma rounds out the nose. I enjoyed the high effervescent feel, but felt the alcohol and bitterness were slightly high but overall the texture was very dry and only a light sweetness w/ subtle phenolic notes.

The taste is pretty smooth with the light pilsner malt and hint of herbal hop and slight candy sugar taste. The phenolic from the yeast is there which adds contrast and subtle spice with a moderate alcohol in the flavor. I enjoyed the way the candy sugar accents the hops which and the yeast. I found this to be a pretty drinkable Tripel. I would not say great, but good and it is a nice change to some of Brewer's arts' other beers since this has more of a dry texture and higher carbonation make for a decent strong belgian -kudos Brewer's Art.
