An interesting beer, tried in the basement of Brewers Art in downtown Baltimore. Really cool place to have a beer. This beer is described as an autumnal pale ale with smoke from lapsang souchong tea.
The beer pours a dark orange color with a ring of white head. The smell has the 'homebrew' malt bill with a flutter of wet cardboard and some slight peat, not the greatest smell ever-no hops either.
The taste is interesting, the smoky tea takes center stage as the taste interest in this beer, followed by a bubbly back palate and some lingering sweetness and vegetal bitters. Interesting spicy feel on the palate. Body is medium.
Overall an interesting beer, but would not order another.
