From the half liter flip top bottle, it pours a clear coppery color with a nice lasting light tan head. It leaves a little lacing as you enjoy the brew. In the nose, it is roasted and caramel malts. In the mouth, it is the same - caramel malts and some roasted malts.
Contained in the 2019 Franken Bock Advent calendar. Unfortunately, it was not repeated in 2020!

Thanks a lot to GT for bringing this previously unrated beer! Beeradvocate has this brewery listed as Das Ambrausianum but on the label it only has 'Ambrausianum.'
The beer pours with a nice copper color with some reddish orange highlights and a ring of white head. Pretty clear, not a lot of murkiness in there, very clean, lager look.
The smell hits me with some cooked corn, baked bread, a bit of clean hop esters. Has some dry straw notes to me as well along with the clear German strain of yeast.
The taste opens up with a lot more depth of flavor and sweeter bready malts compared to the nose. I still get some cooked corn, dry yeast and a definite nice bitter finish from some dry grassy pilsner like hops. Nice balance, good stuff.
The feel is nice and dry, clean with enough of an aftertaste and hop bite to make it interesting.
Overall a nice bock, a nice drinking beer that you might expect to find a small brewpub in Germany.
