This beer had been brewed for the Honda Gold Wing rally that had taken place recently and I was fortunate to get some before it kicked. They utilized Magnum and Mount Ranier hops, so I was told. It started with a medium-tam head, but it quickly reduced to simply wisps. The nose marked it as definitely being an American IPA, since it was redolent with hops. At this point, I confess that I used the staff's cheat sheet - "grassy, basil, and lemon citrus". I I got all of them, but I may (probably would) not have thought of basil. That was the nose. The mouthfeel was medium with the grassy, citrusy flavor alluded to in the notes. The finish had definite, lingering return of the basil. I often wish that I had a better vocabulary of descriptors for beers. Stick with my BeerFly reviews.
