A: Had on tap at MBC. Poured a golden color, good sized head, good lacing
S: Smells sweet/fruity. Cant put my finger on what fruit, maybe grape flavored. Odd but smells very good. Also smells slightly of rye
T: Not as potent as the smell, but tastes very good. Pretty sweet flavor, can't really taste too much rye in there. Tastes pretty similar to a wheat beer
M: Light bodied, easy drinking
D: Had never had this one till tonight for some reason, just never sounded appealing to me, however one of my new favorites at the MBC along with the Sharptail Pale Ale. Very easy drinking, and flavorfull. Would highly reccomend.

06/20/05- On tap via two samplers at the Montana Brewing Co. in Billings, MT.
Presentation- Two samplers from the tap into 4oz glasses.
Appearance- Amber coloring, light lacing and small head.
Smell- No matter how hard I sniffed, I could barely get anything out of it. Maybe a tad of malt, but that's it. Not bad, but incomplete to judge fairly.
Taste- Pretty big hop bitterness, a touch of rye for flavor. Malty backbone flavored as well.
Mouthfeel- Higher carbonation.
Drinkability- One of the few rye beers I have had. Not bad. Definitely drinkable.

The brewer created and American wheat ale and substituted rye for the wheat malt. This brew has some light rye/fruit hints with a very light ester finish. The rye gives a nice hearty flavor to the beer. Nice.
