Appearance: Reddish brown, it turned bright red when set against the light of day. Off-white head, lots of yeast floaties.
Smell: Discreet caramel, herbal, grassy hops, with a yeasty signature that veers toward a minty freshness. A lot of the products churned out by this brewery have this aroma. I wouldn't call it an infection, but it certainly doesn't ring true to the style.
Taste: A touch of smoke and roasty, but needs a bit more malt to hold it's own. Aftertaste has no booze, no hops and and barely any residual sweetness.
Scotch ale? Not even close. Scottish ale perhaps? A pale one at best.
