Don't be fooled... This is not a stout per say. It's a dark beer for sure but there not much of the roasted cereal taste normaly associated with the genre.

Nonetheless, it's a pretty good beverage :-)

Colour is dark with red flares. The smell of appples is obvious and some hints of brown sugar are to be found.

Boy, it's a surprising taste. No roast, no bitterness, all apple and sweet sweet finish. It's like having a desert ;-)

Carbonation is a weak point, it this was more "alive", it would almost be a perfect "digestif".

I've converted people who do not drink any beer to enjoy this and they thanked me for it.

Tasting with HogtownHarry and biegaman.

Sounded interesting from the description. Pours a clear brown, with reddish hues, thin off white head, bubbles, some lace spots, head disappears. Smell is some roast, bit of apple aroma, kind of subdued. Taste is sweet, almost sugary, some roast, apples, bit of cider, surprisingly okay. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Not sure what they were trying to do with this one but it wasn't bad. Thanks Harry, a real treat.

341ml bottle, a "black beer with apples" according to the label. Little apple slices to appear like waining moons. Should be interesting to say the least...
Some head forms on a very rigid pour none of which last minus the small collection of bubbles along the sides. Deep brown colour, quite light for a 'stout'. I don't get much apple in the aroma, mostly a coffee-like complex of roast and malt. A very light mouthfeel, extremelty easy drinkability. A great alternative to other stouts. Not the depth or strength of other stouts, but certainly redeeming in many ways. A stout with apple cider combined. Some mildly sweet apple taste on the finish with some tart bite in the end. The apple really works well to round out the edges. I never thought apple would work so well in a beer, let alone a stout. Thumbs up (especially for a Quebec beer)
Thanks to Harry for hanging onto this one for me.
