I'm surprised how long it took to see Storm King. That was first to come to mind.

Edit: I suck at reading apparently...

As a matter of fact,I drank a Smutty Imp. stout 2009 last evening.

That bad boy was not only delicious, but STILL had some hop-kick!

    Cheers All......

I only had that beer a few times but it did not seem hoppy at all.

I absolutely hate hoppy stouts, to me those 2 words don't even need to be in the same sentence.

The hop profile in Surly Darkness is second to none in the style. Has a reputation of being an amazing beer for good reason.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy doesn't taste hoppy to me but at 98 IBUs there must be something happening in there.

Also, it's a seasonal that's not around anymore, but FFF Toxic Revolution was very hoppy when I tried it.

Am I the only one that would like it if people kept their IPA sensibilities away from Imperial Stouts?

I love Storm King, but I agree with your sentiment. A RIS is not an IPA, but some like the riffs on styles. Take Belgian IPAs, there's a segment of us drinking them, and they're definitely non-standard. ^^/

Drinkin on some Pipeworks Closer Encounter now. Definitely a hoppy imp stout. Straddles the line between that a black ipa for sure. Kinda similar to Night Stalker, though not as sweet. Definitely recommend though.
