I feel they are a little more than Specs but I've never seen them higher than other independent shops.

To be honest, Ive heard Halls charges a little more - But over the last few months, pretty much every special release I bought from Specs or Total wine, my buddy got for less at Halls... Total Wine especially seems to have kicked it up a notch on the pricing of special releases...

I've only been to Hall's once in the last ~2 years since moving west, but used to go in probably 2-3 times a month. They were always higher than Central Market or Mr. G's (this was before Specs & Total came to town). Maybe things have changed. That being said, he could charge more, because there really isn't another place in Tarrant County that sniffs the assortment he gets in.

But enough about Hall's -- back to BBAWW --

    DAMN! It's expensive this year!

Grapevine Beer & Wine charges a convenience fee  -- Halls does not. Their prices for BCBS and Bomb! were cheaper than everyone else the area. In my few visits to Specs, I've noticed that Halls meets or beats their cash prices almost 100% of the time. Same can be said for Central Maket, Total Wine, etc. Only time I shop eslewhere is if I want to pick up a single of something, or they run out of something limited... not sure why they get a bad rap.

The beers are subpar within their own categories.

Sure, people show up at the brewery for the tours. If Miller down the freeway opened for tours they would be crowded too.

Since Goody Goody came to Colleyville and that Albertson's right by Hall's along with Market Street stepping up their games it seems that Hall's came in line pricewise. I got Breakfast stout at Goody Goody for 12.50. Then went to Hall's and they had for 10.50 or so.

On Facebook yesterday they claimed 13.99 for Rahr BBAWW.

Yeah I had some of the regular WW on draft and the first thing I thought was something was really wrong with it this year. There was an unpleasant metallic character to it. Disappointing. It's the one Rahr beer I always held out as an exception to the generally poor quality of their other beers. Seems like they figured out a way to **** up this beer too.

Well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I personally think that WW and Oktoberfest are two of the best representations of their respective styles on the market. And Blonde is one of the best "traditional" lagers made in TX (Ugly Pug ain't bad either). Some of their best beers are styles that would never make a BA's dick hard. But they're still solid beers that seem to do well with the general non-BA craft beer-drinking public. And that's what pays the bills, not the high gravity BBA stuff.

I picked up a couple never had it before. It was definitely not 16 bucks. I honestly don't remember the exact number too many beers ago. Rahr makes good beers IMO.

They are just gone in a couple hours. Live close by, but work in Dallas. By the time I get home, the rare stuff is gone (bomb, bcbs).

Bomb lasted 2 days and BCBS was on sale for 4. Granted Parabola and Rumpkin sold in about 6min.
