It sure does when you consider that tax is included in that vs getting it from a beer store for $13.99 plus tax!

The distilling angle sounds interesting. If it's intended for decent whiskey I wonder if they have plans to age it in the barrel there for at least 4 years, or if they are just going to make younger blends or something of that kind, which might be more feasible. The article doesn't mention anything if they would do other spirits that would be quick and easy to pump out (like gin), but since this is not a new craft distillery I would guess they don't have to worry about quickly pumping out vodka or something quick to make to bring in needed funds.

With the brewery they already have something financial to draw on, curious to see how this goes.

I'm glad they price high. that way people like me who really love gumball head can actually find it before it's completely sold out.

I can't tell you how much this confused me early in my craft beer days!

It is in Chicago. That is pretty much the bottom price for any craft beer six packs around here.

I just hope it is obtainable fresh through distribution. This beer fades quickly.

LOL!!! Illinois is the worst state for business, behind only New York and California. Indiana May have weird beer laws, but I can assure you they are better off staying in IN's business friendly environment.

Yes, because so many companies avoid being located in New York and California.

The brewery will just take longer to burn down now.

With all the stills for the distillery, you'd think it'd burn down even faster despite the expanded space..

A sixer of Ale Asylum Satisfaction Jackson was $14.00, a sixer of FFF Gumball Head was $10.00-11.00 and a 4 pack of Surly Abrasive was $12.00.
Bottom line: Accept the fact that quality beer costs more, or you can follow my buddies thoughts on this (not a beer drinking buddy): "Fancy beer is a waste of money, 30 pack of Hamm's, $11.99 out the door all day long!!!"...Cheers

Also several Lagunitas options at Binny's for $8.99 plus tax...which comes out to about the same cost as the $10 tax included (plus gas) that you pay for Zombie at the brewery.
