I actually went to both Marino's and the Andersons in Sylvania last week and couldn't find any Wulver. I heard that too.

If I'm reading this correctly, total eclipse bottles are sold around Toledo. Does anyone know where exactly? In town for work and leaving on Wednesday.

You can find them at any Andersons store (Talmadge Road, Sylvania, Maumee), Marino's, or Joseph's. Should also be available at Maumee Bay's brewpub. A quick google search will get you the addresses and directions.

    Cheers!

Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout from Maumee Bay Brewing is what has been mentioned. It is a very good beer, but probably not what you are thinking of: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1475/57635/

Anderson's in Sylvania is a SERIOUS place to get beer. Bought a pair of speedway stouts. The liquor section took up a good 1/6, 1/5 of the store. Tricky layout, too; made be navigate throughout the entire thing.

    Thanks for the excellent recommendation

Planning on down to the Toledo Zoo on Sunday w/ the wife and kids (6,3,1). Usually stop at Anderson's Talmadge to grab a few bottles to bring back to MI.

We were thinking of grabbing a bite to eat in the Toledo area after. Few places that popped up were Swig in Perrysburg and Bar 145 (looks to be close to Anderson's).

Are either/both of these kid friendly?

What other places in the area have good food/beer/kid friendly?

If you are going to the zoo, Capers is real close. They have good beer on tap and fill growlers. The food is pretty decent...calzones are nice and fun for kids. The service is kind of terrible though and if you go at night there are some obnoxious drunks there who sit at the bar but during the day it should be pretty kid friendly.

Burger Bar 419 is another close option...a bit of a hip place and has decent beers on tap and large portions but is a bit loud.

5th Street Pub in Perrysburg is another nice option. The beer selection is not amazing but I have often food something nice to drink. It is a bit hip but their pizza is just amazing and you will likely find more seating for you and your kids here than the Swig (even though it is great, it is always packed)

If you feel like going Downtown Toledo, there are like 4 restaurants at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company and they do have good beer these days.

    Thanks!

5th Street sounds like a good option if there's a wait at Swig.

Is Maumee Bay Brewing open on Sun? Couldn't tell on their site. I've haven't been in a few years but dug the food and beer.

Shoot just realized this was on a Sunday...I think both Maumee Bay and 5th Street Pub are closed.

If you are willing to drive an extra fifteen minutes, Reverend's Bar and Grill or The Stones Throw in Bowling Green are other good options and will be kid friendly. If you want to stay in Toledo, any of the Mancy's restaurants usually have something decent on draft or bottles as well as their own IIPA and they open at 4.

Swig really is a family-friendly atmosphere, though. There are always families with kids there during the day/evening, especially on the weekends. If you're going on a Sunday it's almost always quiet and it's open from noon onward.

I picked up some Jackie O's cans from The Andersons on Talmadge yesterday. Not entirely sure, but I think this is the first time I've seen Jackie O's cans there (recently there were some Dark Apparition bottles). Anyone know if these are new to the area, or have I just been missing these?

Enjoying a Hop Ryot right now…real good stuff.

Anyone see Lake Erie Monster yet? I went by Marinos last week and they said they should have it by Thursday this week I wonder if anyone has seen it anywhere else?

It already hit. It goes fast, but I know most people got theirs a few days ago. A few places still have some on tap in Toledo, and it doesn't sell out instantly like it used to. You may still have a chance, but I'm not sure.

Good. I may grab a little more myself. I'm glad you were able to get some.

Appreciate it. It was the first time I have had it and I found it very delicious. I don't know if you liked Chillwave, but I loved it and thought this was actually better.

Had a beer at Swig tonight called Neapolitan Milk Stout by Saugatuck Brewing and it was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a beer I hope to get a growler or a bomber if in the near future. It was also my first time at Swig and it is a great place in terms of food or drink. Service was a little iffy we weren't greeted when we walked in and it took about 15 minutes to get served but after that our waitress was fine. However, back to the beer it is a great brew and must try.
