@UcDru: Glad to see you'll enjoy the box, even if many aren't new to you. I was surprised that the New Glarus fruits weren't on your wants, and now I understand why, you've had most of them

I really wanted to swap out the Foothills Seeing Double for NoDa HDR, but its fairly spotty to find outside of Charlotte and unfortunately I'm just not in Charlotte often enough to find it.

BTW, the flight clue was (and I had to clarify it) was the I flew near the city, not that I landed in it  On one of my flights the pilot let us know that Cincy was 25 miles East of us at the moment, so figured I had to use it

Understood. PS I am glad the Seeing Double was chosen over the HDR while I like both I do prefer the Foothills over the NoDa. This box will be well enjoyed, Cheers!

Glad to hear it. Many of us in the area are mourning the loss of HDR. We were enjoying quite well and then it won an award and all of a sudden everyone and their brother in Charlotte started drinking it and now we can't get it hardly at all in the nearby outlying areas...

I've been drinking the hell out of some WW sours and NG fruits this summer so far. Thankfully working in Minneapolis makes getting NG fruits not very difficult. Was just at WW over the weekend and tried out a couple new ones that I hadn't had before ('Merica Wild Sour, Reverence, Take Take, Hop Burglar, and the new version of the Watermelon Saison, which was particularly strong with a small slide of watermelon).

Merica gone wild sounds amazing. Is that one being bottled? The Freak of Nature is a pretty dynamite Hoppy Brew too, its the only "purposely unifected" beer I have had from them.

No bottles of 'Merica Gone Wild yet, but who really knows with them? They're up to saison #35 and haven't bottled any of them, so what exactly they decide to bottle is a bit tough to tell. They're definitely known for their sours (and for reason), and probably will get even more ridiculous once the Funkatorium (they're separate building for sours) is completely open, but they do have some awesome non-sours as well. Like you say, Freak is awesome, and so is Menage-a-Freak (Triple IPA). Heresy (Brown), Divergence (Coffee Porter), Empyraen (Barrel Aged DIPA) are all very solid.

I wonder if/when Weyerbacher is going to come calling about their beer named Heresy

also, what do you mean "haven't bottled any [saisons]"?? Bretticent is listed as a saison, and that's bottled

Had to talk my wife off the ledge a little bit but I pledged to mostly unload stuff already in the house and she seems to be ok with it. More boxes have gone out than come in lately, so that also helps.

I had to promise this too... and while a lot of my box will be things that are in my fridge right now, I have a strong feeling I'll still wind up buying them to fill the box anyway... I definitely can't wait to get my target but I'm glad the shipping window is still a little ways off.

Yeah I'm in a similar spot - just have to keep things calm until our next round, where I can hopefully share the wealth on some of the great stouts I have squirrelled away. Since this BIF started, it's been more like "buy beer for me, buy beer to send, buy some of that same beer for me, get even more beer from my sender" and it builds up much faster than it goes out. And every time I go to a different locale to see what is available, I find a few things I haven't tried before...

yah. I just shipped a 40 lb box back from North Carolina that I can't even put in the fridge or my normal storage area yet. gotta drink off the stash.

I may need to do one of those clean out the cellar "you send me a label" LIF's soon.

Sorry, that was probably worded poorly. I meant that haven't bottled any of their saison series. I don't really have a good name for it since I don't think WW really names the series. For example, currently they have XXXIIV Poperinge Saison and XXXV Watermelon Saison. I don't -think- (though don't know for sure) that any of WWs bottled saisons came out of that series. They certainly didn't retain their numbering if they did (though they certainly could have renamed the beer or just dropped the number)

Ohhh... gotcha. I've got a couple WWs in my fridge but ultimately don't know that much about them. I guess they could make "Would be XXXVI" and then give it a name if it turns out good enough/large enough batch to bottle, then the next one is "Would be XXXVI" again, and may become "XXXVI" on the tap handle.

Agreed that they could do that, I just can't think of anything that they actually have done it with. Though I do drink WW a decent bit and get there every 1-2 months, their beers change frequently enough that I'm sure I've missed a lot of stuff also.

That watermelon saison sounds fantastic. Just volunteered over the weekend to pour at a beer fest and the brewery (Lake Effect) had a watermelon saison. Needless to say, I helped myself to more than a few samples along the way

It was surprisingly tasty. I honestly did not expect to like it all that much as I generally am not a fan of watermelon beers. However, the addition of the fruit really made it pop. I'm starting to think that watermelon beers really do need a small slice of watermelon with them to bring the flavor out... Unfortunately the day was overcast and not near as warm as it normally is or it would REALLY have hit the spot (as opposed to just being tasty).
