Hoppin Frog has been my favorite so far but I am unlikely to purchase it again because of the price.

I did the same thing last year, and I agree with you, the year old Pumking wasn't as smooth or creamy

I'm not a fan of pumkins but St Arnold's Pumpkinator is pretty awesome.

    Horseheads - Pumpkin Ale
    Schlafly - Pumpkin Ale
    Dogfish - Punkin Ale

I anticipate that this list will change as fall nears and this years offerings start to be released.

New Holland Ichabod is really good for low abv pumpkin. Will be buying at least a 6 of that this year.

But I don't like the name Pumpkinator for a Imperial pumpkin stout. Might be good for a pumpkin dopplebock

Schlafly Pumpkin and ST Pumking are my highest rated. I make sure to get them every year.
Arcadia's Jaw Jacker I remember being very good also, but I can't get those in Maryland, so I wish I could try it again.

Elysian also makes a very interesting range of pumpkin beers, some of them really good.

    ST Pumking
    DFH Punkin'
    Smuttynose Pumpkin ale

Those are my go-to's every year. However I see there are more out there to try so I can't wait for those.

I haven't tried it, but a friend did and was favorably impressed with the results across several beers. I have an old Smashed Pumpkin aging now to test it.

Weyerbacher Imperial, New Holland Ichabod, and Dogfish Head Punkin'. I would drink Punkin' year round. Would love to try Cigar City

My pumpkin ale homebrew, of course. It is set to be released whenever I get around to making it.

    1. DFH Punkin'
    2. Schlafly's-this is the only one that stacks up well to DFH, IMO
    3. Greater Pumpkin by Heavy Seas.

Glad to see Horseheads Pumpkin Ale getting some love in this thread, I have to say this is the best one I've had so far.
    Schlafly Pumpkin is also tasty.
