Interesting stuff @UcDru and @Lehighace06! I think I'll have to try this soon... happen to have a french press sitting around. The idea of coffee and maple infused BCBS sounds interesting too since I happen to have a grinder and PA maple syrup sitting around.

 

I am ready to jump in the LICC party, hopefully there is someone else out there who wants to play along.
Below are 6 bottles looking for a loving home.
Any viewer in this thread is eligible.
This will be a 6 piece package and ideally it will travel out of the Great Lakes States (OH/IN/IL/MI). The growler will be filled fresh the day of or before I ship and is TBD.
I will turn as many as 2 bottles around by request.
When you are ready to collect make it known publicly and then BM me. First to shout it out wins, I do reserve the right to sub out as many as two of the pictured bottles if I can hit wants of my LICC target so make sure those are up to date.
I think I did this correctly so the ball is now in your court let's do this.

 

How does this work? Not to sure Ive seen a LICC before.

 

Yeah I had the same question -- although do I get bonus points if I am sure I recognize at least one of the bottles?

I think the prior LICC's were going on while I was on alert moratorium and not getting them

 

That Bell's bottle with the coaster is supposedly very good! I've got a bottle of it (if I got it right) and might open it tomorrow!

EDIT: Looking at my bottle it is NOT what I thought it was.

 

Sort of winging it but pretty sure I am doing it right so far....I put up 6 bottles who ever claims them I send them once the target receives they send a similar box back. The premise is to share great local brews with limited distribution areas but as I stipulated I reserve the right to hit a couple wants that could be non local if I can

 

Sounds awesome! Definitely in on this! That box looks great too with some Jackie Os, Hoppin Frog and bells!

OK this is embarrassing that I even have to ask, but how the heck do you link a post like that? It would have been a lot easier than what I've been doing with Round 3, which is telling people to look at Locals post #2851 on page 72.

 

I started going back through this thread to understand the LICC me rules and stumbled across some awesome lyrics courtesy of @kgncfl -- I'm so glad I did that since I missed them when they were first posted. So thank you for making me do the research!

As for the rules for part 3 of the locals since i am new I want to clarify.

200-250oz minimum
beer swag/local treat
Also I saw something about at least 2 local seasonals? If so, someone might be getting excited about a georgia box.Either WC moohoo, or CR wnb are gonna be dropping in the next month or so hopefully with what terrapin has been talking about.

Min is 144. Max is 144, although we all ignore that. Beer swag (shirt, glassware, beer wench)and/or a local treat. Or maybe it will be beer swag plus a local treat and/or a pumpkin beer (Halloween theme), but I don't want to change rules midstream. The point will really be that folks are encouraged to include stuff besides beer. Those of us who have been in this since the beginning think of it as the "crab chips rule".

As for local stuff, I don't think it HAS to be seasonal, it's more that we are trying to share things we like that our targets don't get a chance to try because it's outside their distribution. In the first round (my first BIF ever) I started with about 6 real locals (ny state mostly or at least northeast stuff my target couldn't find), plus about 6 of my targets wants that weren't "local" to me, but were readily available that he couldn't get.

Bottom line is the rules are guidelines, the objective is send good stuff your target will appreciate. I think most of us care as much about our target liking what we send as we are about what we receive.

 

In the post that you want to link to, look in the lower right hand corner of the post where you see Like +Quote Reply. To the left of that is the post #. Click on the post # (like your example of post #2851) and a pop-up box will then appear with the permalink information. In that pop-up box there will be two boxes where you can copy the information that is in the boxes. Copy the one on the bottom (it has the URL= in it). Then all you have to do is paste it in the new post that you are typing. When done with the post, instead of clicking on the Post Reply button right away I instead click on More Options. This allows me to preview the post to make sure that the hyperlink posted correctly. Hope that makes sense....

 

I LOVE "the crab chips rule" ... what a great way of putting it. And I agree 100%, the idea is to send a box that you would shit your pants if you received it. We're all chasing that Christmas morning feeling, and if your target catches up with it, you did your job.


Thank you @rspauldi for explaining that, I was about to type that all up, and I'm glad I don't have to. Also, thank you for pointing out the More Options button, I've literally never once noticed it let alone used it; I just Edit my posts a LOT.

 

By the way, I don't think there was ever a requirement that LICC ME boxes be 6 bottles, that just seems to be a common denominator.

 

Wasn't the 6 bottle limit to wait out round 3?

 

I thought that was the summer 6er, not LICC ME... I'll see if I can figure it out.
