Broke down and finally bought a Huna off of a very well known online beer selling site. Received the HUna today and the cap has a slight dimple on one edge and the beer is filled up to about 1" below the cap. Methinks somethings amiss here (i.e. person openened said bottle, drank said beer, filled and re-capped). Just curious to see how full other folk's Huna's are filled...this one looks a tad too full.

What's the well-known beer selling site?

Also, can you post a picture of the dimpled cap? For science?

I'm sitting in my office and got in a case shipment just today. The bottles are sitting on my file cabinet in my office awaiting transfer this afternoon to my cellar. As I look at 3 bottles that came directly from the brewery I can see that one is about 3/4" from the cap and another, the same beer, is over 1 1/2" from the cap. I have found this to be normal.

So far I've not heard a lot about "refilling" bottles! Is this now something with which I should be worried in the beer community? Is this happening with any regularity?

In any event, I agree with others. Taste it and then decide.

I have had a number of Cigar City 750s that were filled quite high.

This is the only logical answer to satisfy the hoax.

you may have gotten the result of beers traveling all over the united states, disappointing but something you should expect if you are not picking the beers up from the brewery yourself or a reliable distributor.

I won't know if it's the real deal since I never had it before...but I guess if I like it then all's good right?

Take pictures and if it's not the right beer use it to get a refund. The website has to have some type of customer service or customer protection.

To me it's always better to trade for beers like Huna from people on BA with a solid trade background.

If it was a refill wouldn't it be flat? Unless it's someone's homebrew or they added some yeast.

    1. Homebrew a half decent Imperial Stout for $50 for 5 gallons
    2. Fill (25) 750 ml bottles.

For someone to go to those great lengths who
    1. already was a beer nut enough to obtain Huna bottles to then
    2. refill them with homebrew to profit a couple times??
    Seems unlikely.

Pop the cap. If there isn't a psst, you got screwed. If there is, you should be good.

People sell/trade craft beer on craigslist all the time. I was surprised initially, but what do I know?
