In 2012 they sold out in 2 days with 40 cases. Last year they got 10 cases total and it was sold out as soon as it was available on Black Friday in 20 minutes.

You have to realize though that in 2012 the craft beer hype was no where near as big as it is now.

Just like anything else, seems to be who or what you know is the only way to get your hands on this stuff.

Louisville also got hosed? That's amazing how Indy will probably get more than you guys. Better drive to Indy then, there's a big bcbs release with a case limit per person for regular bcbs.

How do you know if a store is gonna participate in the Black Friday release of the bourbon county line? I had my go-to store tell me they cannot guarantee they will have these beers on Black Friday because they are, as they put it, "highly allocated beers".

Curious to know how KY is going to fare with this (especially Louisville) if anyone has information on how much is hitting the area please let me know. I want to avoid as much black friday nonsense as possible... especially just for beer.

GI emphasizes the Black Friday release heavily and makes sure to have the allocations to the distributors in time to have them on shelves on time. It is up to distributors and stores to comply with this and take it the rest if the way. If your store won't give you information, there isn't much we can really tell you specific to your situation. All I can say is that in WI and most other places it will go on shelves either when stores open on Black Friday or at some point during that day announced via Faceook, Twitter, or mailing list.

I also hear from my distributors that if you sell BCBS before black Friday you will not receive BCBS next year. the rep and distributor was pretty clear about this to me when I received the order. just putting that out there.

I don't work in the store normally, but I do work for Walgreens. I'm the Beer Category Specialist for the Walgreens and Duane Reade chains. I'll be there that day helping out. Will hand out the first bottle at noon sharp.

This is the first time we've done a launch event of this scale, so I'm not sure what time to expect people to show up.

Any idea how much, when they will release it, and what the allocations will be?

Black Friday and he said he doesn't know yet he was hoping for the same allocation as last year. He also told me that the allocation they did get last year showed up 5 minutes before they opened the doors. The only thing he said is it will depend on what they get.

No that's not exactly what I was saying. I was saying that they ramped up regular BCS production this year and tried to appease the mass majority with our original BCS while at the same time still trying to get those that have received variants in the past at least something. Yes while we are not seeing as much of the variants as we did last year we are literally getting more regular BCS this year than all of BCS and their variants from last year.

I cannot give out sales specifically but what I can say is Iowa is up BUT there are only about a handful of states in the entire US that are not up and those that are down are states that this BCS discussion won't even be an issue. We got an incredibly fair shake this year and I can understand that consumers may be upset about maybe not getting each variant or not enough however BCS is a LIMITED brand and the variants are suppose to be even more LIMITED. So when we see other limited brands still on shelf that's a huge red flag.

I'll be interested to see how limited it is on some markets compared to others. Either way, its just beer, but I feel like its our duty as consumers to raise a stink when we feel like our market isn't exactly getting a fair shake.
