I know most folks on here want to be butthurt for the sake of being butthurt, but shouldn't this really be about tasting each of these beers? Do you really need to own the bottles yourself? Do you really need to drink that many calories of beer and that much alcohol by yourself? I can't honestly believe that everyone posting in the Great Lakes forum won't be able to try these beers. For the love, make more friends! Find good people willing to share, and you'll get to try these beers and save yourself money. If you're a total loner, buy a ticket to the next event that GI pours these beers at.

My sister-in-law lives in Chicago and will be coming to PA for Christmas. What are the odds she will be able to find any BCBS without too much hassle? I don't want to send her on a wild goose chase (pun intended), just looking for a 4-pack or two.

Thought I'd check with you guys to see what the availability is around town. Thanks.

very true. These beers will all be on tap multiple times at various places throughout 2015. That said, it'd be nice to pull out one of those large format bottles to enjoy with a few friends in an intimate low stress setting, negating the need to deal with conflicting schedules and/or crowded bars.

regular should be easy to find. whole foods in goldcoast/river north for example should have a ton. there was a nice line at 6am apparently for their release. over 20 cases of regular was released there and should still be there. at about 9 am, a few cases of BW.

I'm on both sides of the fence on this one. On the one hand, I like to have a bottle (or 2000) to myself, because if it's a beer I really love, I want a LOT of it. On the other hand, a lot of these beers aren't something I need to try more than once, so you're right, it's a little crazy how people live and die over not getting to buy 17 of every variant of everything, ever. For example, I don't really like coffee, so I tend not to love coffee-forward stouts. While I think BCBCS is the best coffee stout I've had, I tried it last year, and a 4 pack was enough to hold me over (actually, just gave my brother the 4th bottle a couple days ago), and now I know that I can skip that variant each year.

I open bottles at parties with friends who don't want to sit outside for 5 hours in 20° weather but like good beer. It's also nice to have access to them when I want without waiting for a special tapping.

I get what you're saying, though. A friend of mine who tends to sit in lines with me is thinking of skipping the BF crazy next year and just camping the bar at GI Clybourn for the timed tappings. Gets to try all the variants while snacking on apps, staying warm, and having easy bathroom access. Sounds like a pretty solid plan.

i'm not quite sure but they had a u-boat out. the initial rush was gone and when i was there, no one was asking for it. i'd guess there is a 40 percent chance there might be BW left. call the store and ask for the specialty department. the customer service won't know.

Honestly, I don't think enough people knew about Baudonia, it certainly remains my favorite of the BCBS line and at the top of the list for one of the best beers I've ever had.

Was this somewhere in Westmont? My sister stopped at her local place to look for it for me and she was told she had to buy a case of something for a Prop or a single bottle of coffee. She called me to check if that was normal and I told her to get the hell out of there. I can't even imagine what the markup would have been on the case let alone the Prop. I think I saw Vav say that this is illegal in a different thread? I don't blame the guy for asking people to make another GI purchase but a CASE?? The guy behind her bought both and I assume 2 cases of 312 as well. crazy.

Still have a case and a half of BW, thanks for the tip. FYI, they're nowhere near the Brussels sprouts.

Have all the Whole Foods released theirs except LP?

Had I known about Gold Coast, I totally would have waited in line. I'm tired of being shut out.

Also, does anyone know if Capones has done their release yet?

Capones is getting one case of each bomber and the owner is selling them to his friends. I was told today they will not be made available to the public - so my quest for a proprietor's continues. The guy there did say that they would be releasing the other versions soon and that they would post it on their Facebook.

i don't know if all of them received their shipments, sorry. city proper stores definitely didn't get theirs for black friday, on purpose.

nice. i was there around that time for lunch. saw a about 4 packs of the BW on the floor. a friend picked up one pack, then a few other folks picked up the last of the four packs of BW. quite possibly that more are in the back. definitely regular available.

Thanks for the heads up about Whole Foods Gold Coast. Was able to get a 4-pack of BW and a 4-pack of regular. BW was looking low around Noon, but still plenty of regualr BCBS to be had.
