Posted in general help as well:

Relatively new here and asking for opinion and experience from those more seasoned here. Would you say the stock for '14 Vanilla and Prop is at its highest with hype/holidays/people in the "buying" spirit?

Or do these limiteds tend to hold up their value in trades throughout the following year? I have small quantities of each to trade at some point but looking for guidance on when/how to trade these.

Lastly, what should I be expecting in return for each or a package deal w both?

My wheelhouse is great IPAs I can't get in PA (HT, Crusher, Focal, Pliny) but I realize i might be smarter asking for these as add-ons.

Thanks in advance for the help and for making this a grea site all.

The first bit of advice I will give, is don't be a trader that tries to play the stock market with beer to squeeze every bit of "value" out of it. Not saying that is what you are doing, but the wording could be construed that way. Being a fair trader in a sea of opportunist will help get you established with good long term trade partners.

@Stater , if the "sketchy" thread above is referring to you (@mertzhb15 can confirm if he wants), I'd advise to take a HUGE step back and re-evaluate your trade behavior and approach. It's not too late to follow @Kayn169 's advice.

Wow, yeah I definetly didn't see that other post. It's really sad that this is what our community is turning into. This is one reason why I'm not really trading much these days, and why we have seen the loss of a lot of the vets. There was a standing joke about 2012'ers gonna 2012, but 2014'ers put 2012'ers to shame. Not saying all obviously, but there seems to be waaaay more, and aren't discrete about their real intentions at all

@mythaeus yes this is who i was referring to. I am trying to locate the 10 or so other threads/users I watched him respond to last night while he was telling me I had what he was looking for and could ship tomorrow.

A few traders, especially new ones who are still learning the way, aren't indicative of the BA community as a whole, IMHO. There are plenty of new traders I've worked with, started out asking for the world and looking like they're trying to "win", simply because they don't realize the full value of long term trade relationships. So long as more experience traders can help guide and explain hoping people understand and learn, we would still have a good trade community yet.

@schepelz was the only one I could find with a comment still on his FT, I believe he went back and deleted the posts that were being made on the other threads.

This is hilarious and exactly the case. When I made my initial post, his profile listed at least 10 threads he had responded to in which he mentioned having multiple Vanilla and Prop and asking of the OP, "what would you offer?". Unless he has something like 15 to 20 of each, he is clearly just working through the forums to maximize returns on 1 or 2 trades, regardless of how many inquiries he floats out there.

Edit: He has also seen this thread, per his "last read" history, which likely led to the deletions.

@dbc5 I just found a thread where he mentioned he had multiples of BCBCS for trade, yet asked me to include my one bottle in a deal where he was already trying to get far more than his bottle was worth.

    Good morning-
I am relatively new here and still learning some ropes. Like most things I do, I tend to go too far too fast. I apologize completely. I am, for one thing, not out to gouge anyone. What may have come off as an auction is not that. I am actually trying to get some quantities of some things to share with friends at a Bowl game party. They are a little less fortunate than me and I am trying to get them brews they likely would not get elsewhere. I apologize again how this came off and for anyone I offended. I will take the help threads down and trades down if I can.

I love this site and again did not mean to offend anyone. Was just trying to get some things together to share with friends.

    Happy holidays all

I'll take this in good faith and hope you take some time and work through the contacts you made and build good and fair trade relationships as advised. Happy holidays.

Yup, I can still see all the posts your made under your profile.

I totally get where you are coming from, and it's a great stance to have. Although, I have been around long enough to tell the diff between someone not knowing why their offer is crazy, and someone trying to take advantage. Unfortunetly I have seen a lot of the latter. I'm still trying to give people the benefit of doubt, which is why I was trying to give helpful advice in my first post.
