Bad Trader: BarofGold

I had Fed Ex pop a box in Ca, and they shipped it back to me, just made a bit of a fuss told me it was illegal to ship. I ship FX exclusively so there's no flagging on an individual basis. The worst that would happen is they destroy the box which was intended, perhaps they ship it back to you too, you never know. But I'd be damned if there was even a slim chance to block a box of freebies going to a thief would I not try to intercept that box. I also had a box broken and destroyed in Minn, no letter nothing except following the tracking info, they never said a thing about it. So I don't believe they take shipping of beer very seriously at all.

 

I don't think that list is all of bad traders, if so, it would be a lot longer.

@Todd Dec 22 2014 you noted in this thread that BarofGold had retired his acct. (You noted a bit later that he lied when he told the OP he was banned) Is re-activating a retired acct a simple matter?

He has very recent fb & currently has 6 open trades. @BarofGold is limiting who can see his profile, but his fb is still accessible. Given how generously BA rate trades in general, how patient & forgiving they are of even egregious behavior & how reluctant most member are to leave even neutral fb, it's fair to say that BarofGold's fb reeks.

Reading through this thread it's clear that his fb, as crappy as it is, doesn't tell the whole story. Others in this thread have also complained that he's cheated them, both here & elsewhere.

@PatrickInAustinTx noted that BarofGold attempted to re-negotiate an agreed upon trade. Failing that he simply reneged on the trade.
@cbgoods set up a trade with him whereupon BarofGold admitted he didn't have all of the agreed upon beers. When cbgoods declined to ship prior to BarofGold acquiring those missing beers, BarofGold flaked out on the trade.
@sarro sent him a box in mid Dec with Kuhnhenn bottles. Sarro, did you ever receive the beers due you from BarofGold? I notice he never left you fb. Did you have a trade request accepted prior to shipping your beers to him?

@JamesH the OP of this thread, finally rec'd a box from BarofGold, which was short two of the agreed upon beers.

@jason3125 left negative fb explaining that he rec'd only half of the agreed upon beers.
@Aespi left negative fb because he never rec'd his beers from BarofGold.
@nophunk left neutral fb because his box was missing several of the agreed upon bottles though he rec's a 4pk of Heady a couple weeks later

@OU_Bobcats left positive fb which mentioned BarofGold couldn't find Heady for him. OU_Bobcats, was the Heady part of the agreed upon trade?

@Respirologist might have had a near miss with him.
@DenverBeerDrinker noted delayed shipping problems with him but otherwise rec'd what they agreed on

BarofGold have you made it right with the people you've cheated, both here & elsewhere, prior to resuming trading? Going forward, what are you doing differently to ensure your obligations are completed in an honest & timely fashion? Of course, in this thread you demonstrated a history of LYING as well as STEALING & PREVARICATING. That makes it very difficult to trust what you have to say.

@Ready4aHeady I'm curious. Given what a shambles his fb is in, why were you comfortable trading with BarofGold? Did you at least request that he ship 1st?

@F2brewers given BarofGold's extensive history of sketchy dealings, do you think he's earned the blue-dream badge of distinction, ie post a link of this thread to his profile page. It's sad he's back but it's scary he's apparently got 6 trades open.

This guy is still trading on BA? How can you tell, profile shows no trading info and is restricted.

Also, maybe the system needs an enhancement, anyone who has accepted the trade terms of service can't hide their profile.

 

Needs to be banned.

Hard to believe anybody would still trade with this character. Really curious why @Ready4aHeady would trust a trader like this, I'd be interested in finding out if he made him ship first, or just wasn't aware of his checkered past.
